Chuck Liddell's UFC Career

UFC fighting is one of the most popular events to watch on television today. Most of the MMA fights are a pay-per-view event and offer nothing but straight out, hardcore fighting. One of the most vicious fighters ever known to step into the octagon is Chuck Liddell, also known as the "Iceman." He built his reputation on one punch knockout power and soon became one of the most feared fighters in UFC history. Liddell had his first victory that went to decision against Noe Hernandez in 1998.
There are different weight classes in the UFC and Chuck Liddell was considered the best fighter in the light heavy-weight division. Liddell fought Randy Couture for the belt in 2002 and lost with the referee stopping the fight. Chuck Liddell then went to Pride Fighting and represented the UFC. He beat Alistau Overeem but lost against Rampage Jackson. Looking for a championship fight against Chuck, Tito Ortiz which was surrounded by a flurry of smack talking by both sides. Liddell won by TKO and the two wouldn't fight again for 2 1/2 years. He held onto the belt for a couple of years until he lost it to Rampage Jackson in the rematch.
In 2009, the president of the UFC Dana White announced Liddell's retirement following a final fight against Maurice Rua at UFC 97 in April. Shogun won that fight by TKO in the first round. Even though he lost his last fight Chuck "The Iceman" Liddell will always be known as the MMA fighter with the one punch knockout.
